On June 4, 2015, known prose writer, Zohrab Kirejian, launched his third painting exhibition, his first at the Hamazkayin “Lucy Tutunjian” Art Gallery. A large number of artists and art-lovers attended the opening ceremony.
Art Gallery representative, Suzy Derderian introduced Kirejian, the writer and the artist.
Member of the Writers’ Union of Armenia, Kirejian has many literary works published in various Armenian literary journals. He has published three volumes: “What Can I Ask For?” - “Our House, Our Neighborhood” - “Fragments of Life”. He was awarded with the Kevork Melidinetsi Literary Prize for his second volume, published in 2006 by the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia.
Kirejian has always been a lover of fine arts and paintings. He has held two exhibitions prior to this one.
Artist Missak Terzian also talked about Kirejian, the writer; then he described Kirejian’s paintings which he said are characterized by cleanness and the love of various colors. He stated that Zohrab Kirejian’s endeavors have been realized with beautiful literary and artistic works since they combine both art and literature.
Since his school years, Kirejian has had an extraordinary love toward paper and colors. His first paintings date back to 1950 which are also at display at this exhibition.
Both Derderian and Terzian wished success to the artist at the end of their speeches.
The exhibition which continues till 11 June 2015, features around 50 paintings of vibrant and bright colors and express various themes that speak to the heart. Their inspiration comes from nature and real life.
