The exhibition features 31 creations, with such titles as "Beauty and Simplicity," "The Last Try," "Family Reunion," and others. Through their lively colors, the paintings present human feelings and lifestyles, as well as nature and scenery.
In his welcome address, Hagop Havatian, director of the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery, said that since the gallery's inauguration in November 2009, Tutunjian has been following closely, with satisfaction, the work of the gallery that bears her name.
Speaking at the opening, Archbishop Kegham Khatcherian, the Prelate of the Armenian Diocese in Lebanon, said that the Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery is a gathering place for Lebanese-Armenian artists. He added that Tutunjian has always supported, financially and morally, various fields in the Lebanese-Armenian community.
At the end of the opening, Lucy Tutunjian addressed attendees, saying that through her paintings, she has presented the different faces of nature and man.
Tutunjian added that the Hamazkayin Art Gallery should be a forum where young painters can present their artworks, so that they can become representatives of the Lebanese-Armenian painting tradition in the future.
The exhibition remains open till May 17, 2011, Mondays through Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
