The English-language book, titled Lucy's Favorites, contains recipes of foods and deserts from Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan as well as of traditional Armenian dishes. The colorful and nicely designed book took Tutunjian three years to prepare.
At the beginning of the event, the author signed copies of the book for attendees.
In his opening remarks, Hagop Havatian, director of the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery and of the Hamazkayin "Vahe Setian" Printing and Publishing House, said that the gallery that has been operating for two years organizes art exhibitions and other cultural events.
Havatian thanked Lucy Tutunjian for having decided to allocate all proceeds from the book's launching ceremony to the Hamazkayin "Vahe Setian" Printing and Publishing House and to Aztag Daily.
Speaking at the end of the ceremony, Archbishop Kegham Khatcherian, the Prelate of the Armenian Diocese in Lebanon, highly commended the Tutunjian family's generous initiatives, which contribute greatly to the advancement of the Lebanese-Armenian community and its institutions. He added that the book launching should also be viewed within the general framework of these initiatives. Archbishop Khatcherian emphasized the importance of family, adding that Armenian traditional dishes help in creating a cozy Armenian environment.
The event was also attended by Bourj Hammoud Mayor Antranik Meserlian, representatives of various community organizations, Lucy Tutunjian's friends and family, and a number of artists and art lovers.
The signing of the book continued on September 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
