The exhibit is organized by the gallery, and sponsored by His Excellency former Minister Mr. Alain Tabourian and his wife.
The opening was attended by Armenia's ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharian, MP Hagop Pakradouni, Bourj Hammoud Mayor Antranik Meserlian, artists and art lovers.
The exhibition features 17 of Ivos Beuyukian's oil paintings, titled "Le Virage," "New York," "Porte," Le Fur," "Map," etc.
Her paintings are characterized by their eye-catching colors and abstract nature.
At the opening ceremony, Carla Tutunjian gave the welcome speech on behalf of the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery. She said that in 1977, she was among the 100 Yugoslavian students who were chosen to spend six months in the United States as part of an exchange program, giving them the opportunity to expand their horizons and gain new experiences.
Tutunjian said that Ivos Beuyukian has traveled to different countries and taken various painting classes, and she currently lives and paints in Paris, France.
In her speech, Ivos Beuyukian thanks the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery for organizing the exhibition with great attention to detail.
She said that after getting married to Leon Beuyukian, she learned about Armenian people, who have many similarities to the Serbs. She added that this exhibition is a good opportunity to express her respect toward the Armenian people.
The exhibition will remain open till October 24, 2010, Mondays through Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
